This recipe
is similar to the cheese straws
that I made before. I omitted the eggs so that my middle daughter could eat
these. Made these the night before for a party the next day.
Here’s what I
did:
1)
Thawed
puff pastry sheet for 40 min at room temperature. Preheat oven for 350 degrees
2)
Made
the cinnamon sugar, combining ¼ cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon
3)
On a
floured cutting board, rolled the puff pastry a little, then cut in half and
into strips
4)
Sprinkled
the cinnamon sugar on top
5)
Twisted
the puff pastry strip tightly with the cinnamon sugar on the outside
6)
Baked
for 12 min at 350 degrees.

- Brush the pastry sheets with the eggs and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Cut each sheet of pastry crosswise into ¾-inch strips. Halve the strips crosswise.
- Twist each strip. Place on parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them 1½ inches apart. Bake until golden and crisp, 12 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly on baking sheets, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
