Red Velvet Cupcakes

Decorated with black music notes using black fondant for daughter's recital.
Decorated with marshmallows, chocolate chips, orange gummies, and red sprinkles for my daughter's birthday.

I've tried this recipe twice, both times, turned out pretty well! Note that you do need an entire 1 oz bottle of red food coloring. Usually, when you buy packs of food coloring, they come in 0.3 oz bottles.. so just be sure to have that ready before you bake! Frosting also calls for 16 oz of confectioner's sugar. When I frosted the cupcakes, I did end up using most of the frosting.

First time I made this, I made it into Elmo cupcakes for my oldest daughter's birthday. Second time I made it was 7 years later, and it was for her violin recital! Put music notes on it with black fondant.
