This is such a nice and easy
appetizer recipe. I’ve used puff pastry many times before, but didn’t think to
bake it like this, cut into circles and baked between 2 baking sheets to make a
round disk! This is such a versatile base for many other tartlet ideas.

Tartlet Base: (~inspired from Dorie
Greenspan’s Around my French Table)
Ingredients
·
Puff pastry
·
2 inch circular cookie cutter
Directions:
1.
Thaw puff pastry at least 40 min in advance
2.
When puff pastry is thawed, cut out 12 circles
from one sheet
3.
Lay the puff pastry onto silicone sheet.
4.
Place a piece of wax paper on top of the puff
pastry sheet, and then another baking sheet on top
5.
Bake for 15 min.
Tomato and Mozzarella (~inspired from Dorie
Greenspan’s Around my French Table)
Ingredients
·
Baked puff pastry tartlets
·
Fresh mozzarella, sliced
·
Cut tomatoes
·
Fresh basil
·
Balsamic vinegar + olive oil, or creamy Balsamic
vinegar dressing
Directions
1.
Lay sliced mozzarella on top of tartlets, top
with basil leaf, and then cut tomatoes
2.
Drizzle balsamic vinegar on top
Smoked salmon,
Mozzarella, and Basil (~inspired from Dorie

Fresh mozzarella, sliced
·
Smoked salmon, or fresh tuna
·
Cherry tomatoes, cut in half
·
Sliced small radishes
·
Canned sliced olives
·
Fresh basil, chopped or torn
·
salt
Directions
1.
Lay sliced mozzarella on top of tartlets
2.
Top with smoked salmon or fresh tuna
3.
Top with cherry tomatoes, sliced radishes, and
olives
4. Top with fresh basil and sprinkle with salt
